About the Department
The Department of Commerce, MSRCASC was established in the year 1994 with 24 students and today there are 600 students. It focuses on providing quality teaching with the intention of making students academically strong and also readily employable as per the market requirements. It believes in providing quality education and nurturing students in the area of research.
The Department offers coaching for professional courses such as CA, CS, ACCA, etc., to mold students with a high sense of responsibility toward the development of the economy. The Department is also equipped with a commerce lab to enrich the practical knowledge of students. It also offers various value-added programs on the Stock market, Advanced Tally with GST and TDS, Advanced Excel, etc. The department has a forum in the name of “Commerce Club” to showcase the talent of students in the area of accounting, entrepreneurship, human resource, finance, etc. Apart from this, one more feather on the cap of our department is the department newsletter “E-Vanijya”. This encourages and motivates students in writing articles, sketches, etc. The students are placed in the big four companies such as JP Morgan, KPMG, Deloitte, EY, Amazon, etc.
Subjects Offered - Discipline Specific Core
Three discipline speciifc core papers shall be studied every semester as prescribed by Bengaluru City University.
Open Elective
To be chosen from a range of subjects available in the college in disciplines other than the Discipline Specific Core.

Eligibility Criteria
- Eligibility for the programme is a pass with a minimum of 70% at the +2 level (Karnataka PUC / ISC / CBSE / State Boards) in the Commerce stream from any recognised Board in India.
- Candidates writing the +2 examinations in March-May 2024 may apply with their class X and XI marks.
- Students pursuing International curriculum must note that eligibility is according to AIU stipulations.
- Applicants pursuing IB curriculum must have 3 HL and 3 SL with 24 credits.
- Applicants pursuing GCE / Edexcel must have a minimum of 3 A levels with a grade not less than C.
