About:

The Innovation Cell at MS Ramaiah College of Arts, Science, and Commerce serves as a central force, guiding students to hone and display their talents and strengths, fostering a culture of creativity to nurture their potential. Through this initiative, students are equipped with the skills to cultivate innovative ideas, enhancing their competitive abilities. Encouraging innovation within educational settings empowers both educators and learners to delve into exploration, research, and the utilization of various resources to uncover novel solutions and approaches. MS Ramaiah College of Arts, Science, and Commerce's Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), an initiative by the Ministry of Education, aims to cultivate innovation among its students by fostering, motivating, and nurturing them through regular activities. The Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, has established the MHRD's Innovation Cell (MIC) at AICTE, with the objective of systematically promoting an innovation culture across all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The IIC/EDC at MSRCASC operates in an organized manner, offering a diverse range of activities focused on various aspects of innovation through its Calendar of Activities at the beginning of each term. These activities, including lectures, leadership talks, webinars, e-sessions, Ideation workshops, and innovation competitions like Hackathon and Bootcamp, are conducted within MSRCASC. The college actively participates in numerous activities proposed and organized by the IIC, which significantly contributes to the development of students' creative potential.

Objectives:

• Foster and shape novel ideas.
• Establish a mentor network for student innovators.
• >Cultivate a dynamic local innovation environment.
• Enhance institute readiness for NIRF rankings.
• Implement mechanisms to support startups within Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

Functions:

• Execute a range of innovation and entrepreneurship activities as directed by MIC.
• Recognize and incentivize innovations while disseminating success narratives.
• Arrange regular workshops, seminars, and engagements with entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals, establishing a mentor network for student innovators.
• Foster connections with peers and national entrepreneurship development entities.
• Establish an Institutional Innovation portal to showcase innovative endeavours undertaken by faculty and students.
• Coordinate Hackathons, idea competitions, and mini-challenges involving industry collaborations.
