World Health Day

To commemorate World Health Day on 7th April 2025, the Department of Chemistry/Biochemistry and the National Cadet Corps (NCC) of M.S. Ramaiah College of Arts, Science, and Commerce Camp. The camp was held in association with M.S. World Malaria Day

World Malaria Day 2025 was commemorated at SandhyaKirana Old Age Home in Bangalore with great enthusiasm. BSc IV sem biochemistry students along with Dr. Pooja G Singh and Dr. Shashidhar Bharadwaj conducted a free health checkup camp, providing essential medical care to the elderly residents. A key highlight was the Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) for malaria, ensuring early detection and prevention. The event aimed to raise awareness about malaria prevention and promote healthy living among seniors. Our dedicated team of healthcare professionals worked tirelessly to provide quality care and support. The residents appreciated the initiative, and it was heartwarming to see the community come together for a noble cause. The event was a huge success, and we're grateful for the opportunity to serve. By spreading awareness and providing medical care, we strive to create a healthier community.
Extension Activity: Visit to the Gandhian School of Natural Farming, Tumakuru

The Department of Biotechnology and Genetics, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized an extension activity for undergraduate life science students through an experiential learning visit to the Gandhian School of Natural Farming, Tumakuru, Karnataka.
The program was led by the esteemed resource person Dr. Manjunath, who introduced students to the fundamental principles and practices of natural farming. The sessions emphasized sustainable agricultural methods that align with Gandhian philosophy.
Under the guidance of the conveners Dr. Sathish Babu, Dr. Vinutha M, and Dr. Radha Dayanidhi, students actively participated in hands-on activities, interactive discussions, and field-based demonstrations.
The visit enabled students to gain deeper insights into eco-friendly farming techniques and their relevance to biotechnology and genetics. The activity fostered a meaningful connection between science, society, and environmental sustainability, reinforcing the importance of responsible scientific practices.
