The Department of Sanskrit at M.S. Ramaiah College of Arts, Science and Commerce - Autonomous, organised Samskrita Dinam - 2026 on 20th August 2026 from 11:00 am at the Abdul Kalam Auditorium. The event was graced by Principal Dr. Pushpa H, and the Chief Guest, Dr. R S Hariharan, Assistant Professor, Centre for Ancient History and Culture, Jain (Deemed-to-be) University. The programme instilled a sense of importance for the historical value and preservation of the rich Indian heritage and culture.

The Chief Guest, Dr. R S Hariharan discussed the history of Indian manuscripts and talked about the most renowned Indian astronomers. He spoke about the Literary and Non-Literary Components of the Indian Knowledge System, the various positions India’s GDP has been in, in comparison to other countries since the 1st century. Dr. R S Hariharan highlighted the contributions made by famous Indian Mathematicians, Astronomers and early Physicists in the field of Mathematics and Geometry. He discussed the need and importance of Pramanas and Pedagogy Practices and emphasized on the value of staying true to one’s own self and work.

Centum scorer students were awarded for the outstanding grades they secured in Sanskrit and prizes were distributed to faculties and students who won in different competitions.
