“When the World Moves, Market Reacts: Geopolitics and India”

The Department of Commerce, Ramaiah College of Arts, Science & Commerce – Autonomous, in association with Stocktale – Bulls, Bears & Me, organised a Guest Lecture and Stock Market Simulation Competition on 6 October 2026 at the Visvesvaraya Auditorium. The programme was attended by 154 students of I Semester B.Com and M.Com. The session was coordinated by Ms. Priyanka M, Faculty Coordinator.

The programme featured Mr. Sagar U S, Founder, Stocktale, as the resource person. The session focused on the theme “When the World Moves, Market Reacts: Geopolitics and India”, providing students with valuable insights into the relationship between global geopolitical developments and movements in the financial markets.

During the guest lecture, the resource person explained various factors influencing stock market behaviour, including geopolitical tensions, government policies, inflation, interest rates, global economic conditions, crude oil prices, currency movements and investor sentiment. The session helped students understand how international developments can affect the Indian stock market and influence investment decisions.

A key highlight of the programme was the Stock Market Simulation Competition, which provided students with an opportunity to experience the process of market analysis and trading in a simulated environment. Students were encouraged to think, analyse, trade and make strategic decisions based on changing market conditions. The activity helped them understand concepts such as risk and return, market trends, investment strategies and decision-making under uncertainty.

The programme successfully bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Students actively participated in the session and gained a better understanding of financial markets, investment behaviour and the importance of analysing economic and geopolitical information before making investment decisions.

Overall, the event was an enriching learning experience that enhanced students’ financial literacy, analytical thinking, market awareness and decision-making skills. The initiative also encouraged students to explore the practical dimensions of stock market investment and develop greater confidence in understanding financial markets.

PG Department of Commerce organized a guest lecture on Dividend Policies and Practices in Modern Era on 9th December 2025, at Room Number 527. The guest lecture aimed to provide a platform for insightful information and in depth discussion on Dividend Policies and Theories.

The guest lecture featured esteemed resource person from Corporate experience and academics, Prof.Prasad.M.L. Associate Professor And a Renowned Professional, And also Financial Controller at Seshadripuram College.

The guest lecture commenced at 12.00 Noon with the welcome address and introduction about the speaker by Miss Arpitha Shanbhogue a Student of III Semester M.Com. The speaker started his Lecture On Different Kinds of Policies, Dividend Payment Ratios etc.. and Certain Practical Implications of the Theories i.e Relevant And Irrelevant Theories Through Solving Problems.

Further, the speaker spoke about implementation Of The Dividend Policies and Theories.
