Extension Activity: Visit to the Gandhian School of Natural Farming, Tumakuru

The Department of Biotechnology and Genetics, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized an extension activity for undergraduate life science students through an experiential learning visit to the Gandhian School of Natural Farming, Tumakuru, Karnataka.
The program was led by the esteemed resource person Dr. Manjunath, who introduced students to the fundamental principles and practices of natural farming. The sessions emphasized sustainable agricultural methods that align with Gandhian philosophy.
Under the guidance of the conveners Dr. Sathish Babu, Dr. Vinutha M, and Dr. Radha Dayanidhi, students actively participated in hands-on activities, interactive discussions, and field-based demonstrations.
The visit enabled students to gain deeper insights into eco-friendly farming techniques and their relevance to biotechnology and genetics. The activity fostered a meaningful connection between science, society, and environmental sustainability, reinforcing the importance of responsible scientific practices.
