PRODUCT RELAUNCH – IDEAS TO ACTION (ED CLUB ACTIVITY)

he Department of Commerce organized an engaging Product Relaunch Competition under the ED Club on 03 August 2024 in Room 427 for I Semester B.Com students. The event encouraged students to think creatively and analytically by redesigning, rebranding, and repositioning an existing product for a modern market.
Students participated enthusiastically, presenting innovative relaunch ideas backed by market research, branding strategies, packaging concepts, and promotional plans. The event successfully provided a hands-on platform for students to transform ideas into practical business solutions. Organized by Mrs. Sindhu K (Coordinator)
Outcomes of the Competition

MADMEN –INTER DEPARTMENT COMPETITION
Date: 22nd and 23rd August 2025
The Department of Commerce, MSRCASC, organized an exciting two-day event titled “Madmen” under the Commerce Club, exclusively for first-year B.Com students. Held on 22nd & 23rd August 2025, the event provided a vibrant platform for students to showcase their creativity, marketing skills, communication abilities, and innovative thinking.
Participants enthusiastically engaged in activities designed to test their business awareness and advertising creativity. The event encouraged students to design impactful advertisements, develop teamwork, and present their ideas confidently in a fun and competitive environment.

Madmen was a resounding success, achieving its objective of nurturing creativity and marketing enthusiasm among new students. The Department extends its gratitude to the faculty coordinator, Ms. Sindhu K, the judge Dr. Panchami H. R., and the college management for their support in making the event both memorable and enriching.
MARKETING MASHUP AND PLAY
Date: 23-08-2024
The Department of Commerce, under the Corporate Club, organized an exciting Marketing Play Competition on 23 August 2024 at the Sir M Visvesvaraya Auditorium for B.Com first-semester students. The event aimed to enhance students’ creativity, teamwork, and practical understanding of marketing strategies.
Students participated in teams of seven and were provided with a target customer profile and product details in advance. Each team presented a creative marketing play within a 5+1-minute time limit, showcasing their skills in branding, persuasion, communication, and audience engagement.
Outcomes of the Marketing Play Competition
- Students gained practical exposure to real-time marketing strategies and consumer targeting.
- Enhanced creativity, communication, and presentation skills through role-play and skit-based branding activities.
- Strengthened teamwork and collaborative problem-solving as students worked in groups to design and deliver marketing pitches.

RANGLOGO MOHATSAV
Logo Design Competition

The Department of Commerce organized a creative and skill-enhancing Logo Design Competition on 29 August 2024 The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from B.Com students, who showcased their artistic abilities and branding sense through innovative rangoli-based logo designs.
Students participated in teams of three and used only eco-friendly colours to create visually appealing and meaningful logos within a one-hour time limit. The competition promoted teamwork, creativity, and sustainable artistic practices.
Coordinated by Mrs. Sindhu K, the event brought out exceptional talent and encouraged students to explore the intersection of art, culture, and commerce.
INTER-DEPARTMENT ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION – COMMERCE FORUM (CREATIVE CLUB)

The Department of Commerce, MSRCASC, organized an Inter-Department Essay Writing Competition under the Commerce Forum – Creative Club, aimed at fostering creativity, critical thinking, and effective communication among students, with enthusiastic participation from both UG and PG students across various departments.
Participants wrote on the theme “Inspiring Thoughts to Aspiring Minds”, showcasing diverse perspectives and originality. The competition was coordinated by Mrs. Priyanka M, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, and evaluated by a panel of experienced faculty members. Essays were judged based on creativity, clarity, coherence, language proficiency, and relevance to the theme.
The winners of the competition are:
- 1st Prize: Anisha M, B.Sc (Biotechnology), 2nd Semester, A Section
- 2nd Prize: Shravani U, B.Com, 2nd Semester, C Section
- 3rd Prize: Shashanth K, M.Sc (Biotechnology), 3rd Semester

WORLD TOURISM DAY – QUIZ COMPETITION
Date: 27-7-2025
The Department of Commerce, in association with the SDG Cell of M.S. Ramaiah College of Arts, Science, and Commerce, organized an engaging Quiz Competition on 27th September 2025 to mark World Tourism Day. The event aimed to promote awareness about sustainable tourism and its connection to the Sustainable Development Goals. A total of 49 students participated enthusiastically, demonstrating keen interest and competitive spirit. The quiz was graced by esteemed faculty members and coordinated by Ms. Sindhu M. Winners were awarded trophies, and all participants received certificates. The event effectively enhanced students’ knowledge of responsible tourism and highlighted the importance of sustainability in the global tourism sector.
