National Technology Day – TechSpark Quiz Fest
Date: 13th May 2026
On the occasion of National Technology Day, the IT Club of the Department of MCA organized “TechSpark Quiz Fest” on 13th May 2026. The event aimed to promote technological awareness, analytical thinking and healthy academic competition among students.The quiz featured multiple rounds covering computer fundamentals, programming concepts, emerging technologies, aptitude and recent IT trends. A total of 33 students from II Semester MCA participated enthusiastically, demonstrating strong technical knowledge, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.The event was successfully conducted with the support and guidance of faculty members and provided an engaging platform for students to enhance their technical skills and stay updated with advancements in technology.
YUGASTR (The Tech Festival of the Future)

YUGASTR 2026 is a futuristic tech fest organized by the Department of Computer Applications. Held on 17–18 February 2026, the event features innovative and exciting competitions that promote technical skills, creativity, and innovation among students.
YUGASTR 2026 is a futuristic tech festival organized by the Department of Computer Applications, Ramaiah College of Arts, Science & Commerce (Autonomous). Presented by TECHTONIC, the event celebrates innovation and emerging technologies. The chief guest is Mr. Veerendra Shetty, Founder, MD & CEO of Visukhi Infotech Pvt Ltd. The program was held on 17-02-2026 at 10:00 AM in Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Auditorium, welcoming management, staff, and students to explore the future of technology.
Poster Presentation on “Next Generation Technologies”

The Department of Computer Science organized a poster presentation on “Next Generation Technologies” on 6 January 2026 for 1st Semester MCA students at M. S. Ramaiah College of Arts, Science and Commerce. A total of 19 teams participated and presented posters on advanced and emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare, Metaverse, DevOps, Cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT), Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI), Cloud Computing, Deep Learning, Brain–Computer Interfaces, and Augmented and Virtual Reality in Healthcare. The event was evaluated by an external expert, providing students with academic enrichment, industry-oriented exposure, and an opportunity to enhance their research, presentation, and technical communication skills.
Talent Hunt Day
Date:7th November 2025
The Department of Master of Computer Applications (MCA) organized Fresher’s Day on 7th November 2025 at Mother Theresa Hall to warmly welcome the newly admitted students into the department and create an interactive, inclusive environment. The venue was beautifully decorated by senior students, and the program commenced with an invocation song followed by a welcome address by the Head of the Department, with the Principal and faculty members also gracing the occasion. The event aimed to build strong bonding between seniors and juniors, motivate first-year students, and provide a platform for showcasing creativity through cultural and entertainment activities. The celebration featured vibrant dance and music performances, skits, fun games, and engaging interactive sessions that energized the audience and set a positive tone for the new academic journey. The presence of Dr. Prathiba V Kalburgi, Head of the Department, along with faculty members, added significance to the event as they shared valuable insights on teamwork, discipline, and academic excellence, inspiring students to grow both academically and personally.
Entrepreneurship Excellence: Future Founders Fellowship Program
Date: 2nd to 4th January 2024
The Department of MCA organized an awareness session on the “Future Founders Fellowship Program” by INDPRO for 1st Semester MCA students, with a total participation of 60 students. The program is aimed at inspiring and nurturing entrepreneurial talent among students from various academic backgrounds. During the session, students were introduced to the fellowship’s objectives, which include helping them explore their entrepreneurial potential, understand the fundamentals of starting and managing a venture, and develop key skills in innovation and leadership. The initiative encouraged students to think creatively, engage in problem-solving, and consider entrepreneurship as a viable career path.
Student Enablement Program on Generative AI
Dates: 6th to 8th January 2025
The Department of MCA organized a three-day Student Enablement Program on Generative AI in collaboration with Infosys Springboard, held from 6th to 8th January 2025. The objective of the program was to empower students with essential knowledge and hands-on understanding of modern AI tools and techniques, particularly in the domain of Generative Artificial Intelligence.
The sessions were conducted by Mrs. Girija T R, Senior Analyst – Education, Training & Assessments, Infosys Limited, Bangalore. Her sessions were structured and interactive, providing students with a strong conceptual foundation and practical exposure to Generative AI. The workshop covered key topics such as the fundamentals of AI, the evolution of generative models, prompt engineering, applications of generative AI in various industries, and responsible AI practices.
Poster Presentation - TECHTONIC

The Department of MCA organized the inauguration of the MCA Club “TECHTONIC” in the 6th Floor Corridor, creating an engaging platform that encourages student innovation, creativity, and collaboration. As part of the inaugural celebration, a Poster Presentation Competition was conducted to encourage creative and innovative thinking among MCA students. The event was coordinated by Ms. Nagalambika Swamy and Lt. Lakshita H. S. Murthy, Assistant Professors, Department of MCA. The inauguration witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, contributing to the successful launch of the club and setting a positive tone for future activities.
IT Quiz on National Technology Day

The IT Quiz, organized by the Department of Computer Science in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), serves as an effective educational and evaluative tool rather than merely a test of memory. It is designed to assess, strengthen, and expand participants’ understanding of key areas in the IT domain, including computer hardware, software applications, programming languages, networking, and emerging technologies. In an era where the digital landscape evolves rapidly, staying updated with technological advancements has become essential. IT quizzes provide an engaging and structured platform that encourages learners to remain informed, curious, and motivated. By incorporating multiple-choice, true/false, and scenario-based questions, the quiz evaluates not only factual knowledge but also conceptual clarity and logical reasoning, making it particularly beneficial in academic settings.
